Realme 5 Pro has arrived, know full information
Reality, Oppo's price-conscious spinoff, has raised the stakes for low-cost phones in India with a pair of devices that are sure to attract attention for their features and style. Both Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro have four rear cameras that will entice many buyers, and both look great with their geometrically designed rear. Realme has done a great job so far in a segment dominated by Xiaomi, and both these phones will directly compete with the models that the Chinese giants have succeeded so far. We are going to have a look at the more premium of the two, Realme 5 Pro, which we were able to spend a little time before its official unveiling.
Realme 5 Pro is surprisingly a bit smaller than Realme 5, but this is not a problem for us as it is easy to handle. One-handed use is not very difficult, mostly thanks to the curved rear shell. Even though it looks bright, it is not slippery at all and we never felt that this phone was in danger of falling from our grasp. 184g weight is very manageable.
The company's signature abstract angular lines can be seen on the rear of Realme 5 Pro, but even though different crystalline panels represent each light differently, the overall end of the back has a single, smooth texture. There is also a subtle overall color gradient, going from a rich emerald green in sapphire blue to the bottom of the crystal green unit that we have. There is also a sparkling blue color option that has the same pattern but is more purple when the top fades to light blue.
The overall fit and finish of Realme 5 Pro is quite impressive. It seems quite high-end, considering the initial price of just Rs 13,999 for the variants with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. You can also get this phone with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for Rs.14,999, or get a big jump of Rs.16,999 for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Buyers would like to pay attention to this non-linear scaling of specifications with prices.
Realme says that it has used Corning Gorilla Glass on the front of this phone for security. The screen of Realme 5 Pro measures 6.3 inches diagonally and has full-HD + 1080x2340 resolution. In our brief time with the device, we found the screen quite bright and bright. The text and markings looked suitably crisp, and the colors were dark. Overall, we liked what we saw, but when we do our full review we will have to spend more time with this phone.
Part of that positive impression has come from the very modern, sleek design of the ColorOS 6 on this phone. UI icons, text, spacing and general design stood out for us. The pull-down notification shade with integrated quick notifications, settings app and task switcher looks quite slick. However, we counted more than 10 pre-loaded first- and third-party applications, and we'll have to wait and see how this affects the overall usage experience.
The Realme 5 Pro has the power button on the right and the volume button on the left, and they are all within easy reach. The bottom has a 3.5mm audio socket, USB Type-C port and a single speaker. The top is empty except for a secondary microphone. The tray at the top left has separate slots for two nano-SIMs as well as a microSD card for storage expansion. There is also a silver-ring fingerprint sensor on the rear with cameras.
The camera module on the rear of Realme 5 Pro sticks to a large extent. The 48-megapixel primary camera (which uses the Sony IMX586 sensor and boasts f / 1.79 aperture plus PDAF) is highlighted with two rings and a text label, while the other three line up quietly beneath it and Flash is off on one side. These other cameras are an 8-megapixel f / 2.25 119-degree ultra-wide-angle one, a 2-megapixel depth sensor for portraits, and a 2-megapixel macro camera for extreme close-ups. There is no telephoto lens, which is understandable given the price point.
For the inside of Realme 5 Pro, you will get a great Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC Plus along with choosing. Realme says that it has used the UFS 2.1 standard for its flash storage chips. It also has a 4035mAh battery and this phone supports 30W VOOC flash charging. The interesting thing is that you get a 20W charger in the box which is not as fast, but still better than a lot of competition, especially at this price level.
